Enjin in the fashion world: augmented reality NFTs in development
A limited edition virtual fashion collection is now available. A new app ensures that users can see these pieces in the real world.
Enjin and MetaverseMe are collaborating on virtual fashion items on the Ethereum blockchain. They aim to create a series of tradable, non-fungible tokens representing clothing for Metaverse avatars.
Enjin will provide the infrastructure framework on which the NFTs will be used. These can then be visualised in MetaverseMe. This is an augmented reality platform where users can create custom avatars and have them interact with their real environment. Avatars can be dressed in many fashion items that are verifiably owned by the user via the Ethereum blockchain.
Overview of the key features of the MetaverseMe app.
The first collection available through the platform is called Pluriform and was designed in collaboration with design studio The Fabricant and gaming company Atari. Atari recently partnered with Enjin. The collection will be available until 28 February. After that, all unsold NFTs will be burned to ensure the uniqueness of the collection.
Besides the visualisation of the collection in the MetaverseMe app, the NFTs and the items behind them will be available in other virtual worlds that are part of the Metaverse. This is to further Enjin’s initiative to connect separate video games in a shared virtual universe. This includes Atari’s intellectual property such as the re-released classic „Kick Off“, but also Minecraft. This is possible with the plug-in from Enjin.
Enjin’s token was recently approved by Japanese authorities. As a result, its price has risen sharply.
